The Big Hammer "Twitchin' Grub" hand-poured salt-injected bait is an extremely effective freshwater soft plastic bass bait. But it's effectiveness does not end with freshwater bass. It has also proven itself on saltwater species such as Spotted Bay Bass, Halibut, Redfish, etc. When Texas-rigged it can be deadly in "weedy" conditions where other lures are impossible to fish. The Twitchin' Grub can be rigged in a variety of ways including Texas-rigged, Carolina-rigged, weightless, on a jig head, etc.

The bait that helped Mark Rizk take 2nd place at the 2000 Bass Master's Classic. Originally designed for drop-shotting the Salt Shaker Worm has proven to be one of the most versatile plastic worms on the market. One of the deadliest ways to fish this lure is the "weightless", "do-nothing", or "horizontal drop" technique. When fished weightless, the fat head and skinny tail design combined with a very heavy concentration of salt gives this bait the density to achieve a perfect horizontal drift to the bottom that predatory fish can not ignore. In addition to drop-shotting and the weightless approach the Salt Shaker Worm can be fished using various other techniques including Texas-rigging and Carolina-rigging. There's really no wrong way to fish this bait.

Initially designed as a flip bait, the Big Hammer Ringer has carved out a niche in many different areas of the freshwater and even saltwater scene. The tried and true method for Ringers is to flip and pitch them to cover and they work especially well in the mats. But where the Ringer has begun to really excel is as a Carolina Rig bait. Not only is the Ringer excellent as a deep water bait but also as a shallow water bait as well. A somewhat "secret" technique is to Texas-rig the Ringer weightless with a 3/0 wide-gap hook. When fished this way it can be pulled around aquatic vegetation and is an excellent subsurface finesse bait. Lastly the Ringer is also being used in many saltwater applications. Carolina or Texas rigging for inshore species such as Redfish, Speckled Trout, Calico Bass, Halibut or Flounder has produced great results. In situations where the conditions (structure, weeds, etc.) make it difficult to fish other types of "non-weedless" saltwater baits the Ringer can save the day. All in all, the Ringer is an amazing and versatile bait for the versatile angler.
